Though growing up in the same town and going to the same church, Jared and Taylor didn’t run in the same circles. Jared went to Tompkins and Taylor went to Seven Lakes. It wasn’t until after they graduated that their paths crossed in Pensacola on a church trip. All of the graduates were hanging out on the last night of Beach Retreat, and from across the room, this is the first time they noticed each other.

A few days later, they were on their way to Junior High Beach Retreat as volunteers. They got to know each other a little more and hung out when they could. Jared spent his time at the waterpark hanging onto Taylor’s tube as they floated around the lazy river which Taylor thought was WAY too forward and was a little embarrassed.

Finally they got back home to Katy, and spent the next few days hanging out together with a group of friends. Jared was too scared to ask her out, so Taylor texted him to get snow cones while the rest of their friends were out of town. After they hung out together one on one and went on dates to many coffee shops and their favorite Chick fil a. Later that summer, Jared asked for permission from Taylor's dad to officially ask her to be his girlfriend. And on July 29th, 2022, Jared and Taylor officially started dating!

Then began the long distance dating, though we call it medium distance, as they left for college. Jared began his freshman year at Tarleton University and later transferred to Texas A&M University (Gig ‘Em Ags!👍) while Taylor made herself home at Baylor University (Sic ‘Em Bears🐻). They spent a lot of time on facetime, and visited each other as much as they could. They went to many football games, sorority events, and Taylor even watched a few of Jared’s ultimate frisbee games!

Fast forward to May of 2025. Jared has spent many months planning a huge surprise for Taylor. He designed the ring, scheduled out the day, and collaborated with the moms to plan the perfect proposal. Jared was so calm and played it cool so well even though he was freaking out on the inside that Taylor never saw it coming! She was completely shocked and the plan went perfectly!

Now as they enter into this season of engagement, they begin to prepare for a marriage together and they are so excited to see how the Lord works through them this upcoming year! They are very grateful for the community around them and all of the love and support and encouragement from everyone who has poured into them! They ask that you join them in prayer over Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” They can’t wait to celebrate the beginning of their marriage with you and love each and every one of you so much!
